I Must Confess.
A confession you make merely to illuminate the murky corners of your life may end up lighting the path to freedom for a thousand years. Martha Black
As I began “Coming out of the fog” and dreaming of the Outlier Mentoring initiative I was uncertain about things. The “why and who” became my greatest questions. Why MIke? Why now? Why not retire? Who will lead? Who will follow? Will it work?
And then I realized.
What would happen if our mentors were a peer group - not people who shared the same interests, history or life journey - but instead individuals who lived as “outliers.” What if the common denominator of a team were not about politics, sports, travel, wealth, health, academic degrees, status or family background?
What if…
The mentoring team were people who loved, accepted and respected the idea of others pursuing their own dreams while impacting the world? What if this team fueled dreams and passions of others? What if their proactive thinking and actions empowered others to success.
Finally.
And now imagine a team of high school juniors and seniors being influenced, challenged, cared for, and loved by this team.
