Definition of a Grassroots Movement.
A movement or campaign that attempts to mobilize individuals to take some action to influence an outcome, often of a social nature. Movements are conducted through narrow communications such as face-t0-face encounters, emails, texts, phone calls rather than broadcast media.
Steps in creating a grassroots movement: 1. Identify a social need. / 2. Research solutions. / 3. Clarify an action plan. / 4. Recruit partners. / 5. Begin.
“Step one: Identify the social need.”
We have all watched how our world has been evolving in the past few years due to the pandemic, and political and social unrest. This has in turn led to divisions and tensions within the work place, profit and non-protfit organizations and even within families. The pandemic has caused many to rethink what they do in their daily lives - and the reality is that most are not good at change. People for the most part have ‘reacted’ instead of “responding” with new hope, new dreams and new hopes.
“Step two: Research Solutions”
What if people are reminded of their own greatness, their own strengths and the visions for their lives -and the lives in those in the sphere of influence.
What if people could gather in a proactive setting to create a brighter future and greater dreams for themselves?
What if we took personal change as seriously as we should? What if we stopped making excuses, blaming others, whining, gossiping and complaining?
What if there wasn’t a ‘project involved’? What if after the three sessions we never needed to meet again. What if we just slowed down, took time to invest in ourselves? To dream, to refocus and to begin to become more of who we want to be.
“Step three: Clarify an action plan”
I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.
So. Thats the story. That’s the dream. If one-by-one we realize that our thinking, and our personal actions can make a difference in the world - why not begin with ourselves. Why not become contagious with the people in our own spheres of influence.? Shouldn’t we help restore hope, confidence, dreaming big in our world..
“Step four: Recruit a team”
So. That’s the plan. That’s why you are reading this!
