With a passion for architecture and storytelling through art, Mike creates engaging visual conversations that bring history, places, and ideas to life. His work bridges the worlds of mechanical and architectural drawing, graphic design, and studio art, offering a unique perspective on creativity.

Inspired by his travels and the world around him, Mike brings a fresh and dynamic approach to teaching. With a B.A. from Eastern Kentucky University and over a decade of classroom experience, he offers drawing classes that are not just about technique, but about discovering your own artistic voice in a fun and supportive environment.

Advanced: Ready.Set.Sketch.

As a follow-up to Ready.Set.Sketch. – Advanced Sketching students will be challenged with individual projects incorporating basic shapes, shading, shadowing, coloring with a variety of mediums. Learners progress at their own level and personal expectations during this four part series. *Students need to have taken Ready.Set.Sketch. All materials are included in the fee.

Ready.Set.Sketch: Introduction

Whether it’s a refresher course or your first attempt at sketching the basic shapes join Mike for a time to kick back and relax while enhancing your art skills. As both a veteran teacher and coach, Mike meets his students where they are at with their drawing abilities and builds toward the future.

This four part introductory course is focused on gaining confidence in sketching. Mike’s background and training in mechanical and architectural drawing and graphic design support his passion for inspiring, motivating, and encouraging creativity and exploration with students.

• Developing a common vocabulary and understanding of the basics of sketching.
• Gaining confidence with one and two dimensional drawings incorporating the five basic shapes: Square, pyramid, cone, cylinder, sphere.
• Drawing realistic one, two, three point perspectives.
• Line formation, shading and shadowing.
All materials are included in the fee.
